When a magazine like Elle Mexico sits down to write about the five unmissable things to do in Cartagena, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t a little moved to find Nia on the list.
The article, published in March 2026 by journalist Jordi Linares Rivas, builds a guide through the city’s best experiences — from a sunset cocktail in Getsemaní to fine dining at Celele. And there, at #3, between boutique hotels and rum experiences, sits breakfast at Nia.
“The inspiration of Niía comes from the biodiversity in the Colombian highlands, so at the center of its cuisine stand out fruit, seasonal ingredients and artisanal processes.”
— Elle Mexico, March 2026
That sentence carries the whole idea of what we try to do every morning. Before the city wakes up, we’re already working: laminating dough, sourcing seasonal fruit, building pastries that start with a Colombian ingredient and end in something you won’t find anywhere else.
We’re grateful to Elle for seeing Cartagena — and Niía — through this lens. The city deserves every word of it. And if you’re planning the trip, consider this your nudge: start your mornings with us.
